Service indicator reset , shows 0 miles

Featured Replies

Hi , Just had my first service done and being a low milage user , asked to have the service interval changed from variable to a fixed service

Car was returned to me with the service indicator showing 0 miles

Couple of days later I get a warning chime on startup with the service spanner

Called the dealer and told to return the car ,

Just before driving off I check the display ,  which still shows 0 miles , but no warning chime

I return back to sevice dept , service guy tells me countdown mileage  wont show until it gets near to its next service

approx a week later , I get the warning chime on startup with the service spanner / service warning again

Called the service manager today  and told to bring the car in yet again

So my question is .....  should the countdown indicator show 10 000 miles after being reset ?

Thanks for any help

My Octavia when on fixed service intervals showed a count down from 10,000 miles / 365 days.

I only got the chime and daily reminder when it got to within a 1,000 miles or so of needing a service.

The manual will give you more detailed advice.

They haven't reset the service counter correctly if the mileage counter is showing zero and it keeps asking for a service after a few days.

Either way the fact that you've now had to revisit the dealer three times (including the original visit for the service) is unacceptable. You now need more than an apology and a partial refund for the cost of the service to compensate you for being messed about.
