I have recently purchased a 2010 2.0 Octavia VRS, it has 20,000 year / 2 year service schedule. According to the service indicator on the maxidot display it is still showing approx. 10 months before the oil need changing. I would like to change the oil now, just for piece of mind. My question can the service indicator be reset before is actually ready or is it a dealer reset.

If you reset the service indicator yourself (the instructions are in the manual) it will revert to fixed intervals (10,000 miles or 12 months).

 

If you want to stick to longlife / variable servicing (up to 2 years or 20,000 miles) it's a dealer job.
