The moderators have been in since I posted the link as the first 7 responses were saying he'd missed a bit and how he hadn't prepared it right.

I wouldn't be surprised if the train over from the factory is enough to contaminate them up.  That's still quite a lot of metal fallout for a new car.  Guess also a fair degree could come from inside during the manufacturing process.

So much for dealer valeting ;)

They'll never decontaminate - unless they use an outside company to do it properly.  The sad fact is, 99% of people probably would have been happy with that Golf R as it was before.

If I ever was to buy a new car is not let the sponge monkeys near it and take it straight for a new car protection detail.

Ive decontaminated a couple of brand new cars

Both had a lot of iron spots and easliy as much as that Golf

Its worth knowing a local Detailer and getting the Dealers to leave it alone at the PDI ;)

As Jason says, its mainly picked up while the cars are on the train from the Assembly Factories to the Ports

I loved the banter and the insults the most in that thread. Some people just can't take it they might be doing something wrong lol.

yeah, something about the internet that turns a good few people into morons.

My candy white vrs was covered in brown iron spots when I got it home. Although after 6 months its pretty covered again so it needs a real deep clean again. White cars really show it!
