VCDS for newer cars?

Featured Replies

I note the ongoing saga with Pappafox's car with interest. It is being mentioned in that thread that VCDS would be a worthwhile acquisition, and this interests me somewhat.

As I read things, the free software 'VCDS lite' however will not properly address later cars - (I have a 2013 1.2 TSI)

Can anyone confirm that I have read this correctly?

Thanks in advance

No vcds won't work on later cars, but early fabias are fine with it. Ross Tech do a compatibility chart of what vesions work with various model's

VCDS Lite won't work on any CAN based cars. It will give basic OBDII information, but you won't be able to access the other controllers.
