Service - but it's a no to diffuser

Featured Replies

My Citigo GT-Elegance had its first service today.

Scary to think it's 10,000miles already!

Had asked the garage to quote me on the fitting of the rear diffuser. (The Sport rear diffuser from the old brochure was showing £207 painted and fitted).

However, when I was in, the garage showed me the only part they were able to order which was the Citigo Monte Carlo's diffuser, obviously as the sport is now no longer in the line. The difference here is holes had to be cut in the rear bumper, for three clips, and then it had to painted and bonded. For all of these reasons, they were saying it had to go to the body shop. And the price of part + labour (including VAT) was £486.90. I confess that was just a little too steep for me, to put it mildly. So I passed on that, and instead will order some mudflaps next month.

I have ordered, however, the limited edition key-cover. (It's on back order as there are non in the UK, so it's being shipped from Germany). The key cover matches my car exactly, so will be a nice addition to the vehicle.

Small things, but I will really appreciate it. For those interested, the part number is 000 087 012P (although it also comes in a floral design, and a black with white stripe).

Will be ordering mudflaps in the next month or so. But my little Citigo has undergone its first service very happily.
The car average around 60 miles to the gallon, with the highest MPG on a single journey being 76.7mpg - running on ESSO 97 RON unleaded.

Will hopefully have a photograph up when I do the mudflaps, and a few other bits and bobs I have planned... But sshh, it's a secret. But at the moment, 'Shelby' is sitting in the drive shiny and clean, with new oil in it and a 'new car smell' interior. And a very happy owner. :-)
