I am after a Bluetooth kit but it seems to be a mine field!!!

First off big thanks to Phil-E who I am dudes getting well ****ed off with all the pMs!

Now my question is which kit is it I need and what features will I get?!?

Been looking on eBay and there's loads of kits and loads of different part numbers :( some will work some don't :(

I did this recently to a MY12 Octavia Elegance with a Amundsen (RNS-310), I used a 3C8 035 730D and a fitting kit from carsystems.pl

Fitting and coding with VCDS was super simple, it works with both the stereo and maxidot.

Looks like the module you mentioned "lets you talk and receive but there is no phone book capability", it supports both HFP and A2DP but not RSAP. Also looks to support both methods of communication (BAP and DDP).

 

Probably useful to know what car you have and what you want it to do?

Phil is correct about that ebay unit. Its pretty old and lacking functionality and probably a Chinese clone known for being unreliable. If you have an FL and maxidot get the premium 3c8 035 730 d unit on ebay for about 100 quid and a loom from carsystems.pl for about 50.

Ah harder then. With amundsen it probably needs to be 5k0 035 730 d or above or 7p6 035 730 j or above, which like your amundsen wont show in the maxidot either but should work from the head unit and pair from the phone.

As I told Phil I just want it to make and get calls via the head unit

The ones I put in my last post should work in your situation but not in maxidot. The phone book will be available on the head unit only.

Will those kits definitely not need maxidot to pair the phone? Can that be instigated from the Amundsen? Thats the bit I wasn't sure about.

I previously had a 5k0 .. D in my pre FL and I paired it from the phone end (albeit with a Columbus), as it didn't show in maxidot.

Whether it works or not, it's expensive (given that you might also get stung for import charges when it lands in this country). Much cheaper to buy it from here, and no import charges applicable.

Need to know if it works with iPhone and due to the fact mines a preface lift with a facelift head unit fitted BUT I have fl maxidot :(
