Accidentally came across the following website which may be of interest. Its an online magazine focussed on the Czech automotive industry.

Has some interesting stuff about Skoda.

Apologies if people are already aware of that site.

Intreresting read, thanks for sharing.

I just hope the increased demand goes not at the expense of build quality. We had this is in uk in the 70's where demand outstripped supply and cars got 'thrown' together and did the uk car industry no favours.

I remember - but BL (for one) just threw cars together anyway in the 70's. I unfortunately owned some real dogs made by BL over that time.

What I found interesting from the Autofox site is the substantial increase in personnel/shifts that seems to be allocated to the production of the new Fabia. I don't know if the Fabia is produced at the same factory as the Octavia, but if they are, perhaps this may go some way to explaining the worsening delivery lead times for all Octavias and not just the VRs as previously?

Reading between the lines it seems to me that Skoda might be giving the Fabia priority over the Octavia at the moment.

Haven't 50% of Skoda's sales come from the Fabia ?  It would be silly to release a new model and not have enough stock, buyers seem to be willing to wait for the O3 so, why not let them ?

Right or wrong its just business sense.

The Fabia has higher demand as it is cheaper - simples
