setting off 'problem' when engine cold

Featured Replies

2006 Octavia 1.9pd Tdi diesel 6speed DSG Auto.

No matter how gently I depress the throttle when setting off from a standstill, it sets off with a jerk - a bit akin to the free play evident from a worn prop shaft joint on the old rear wheel drive vehicles (for those old enough to remember them).

Once the engine has reached normal operating temperature the 'problem' disappears and results in a smooth take up of power.

Any knowledgeable bods have any ideas on what this is?

Regards

Forgot to say - it's done circa 80k miles.

Also, forgive the formatting of my original post, I did split it into paragraphs, but posting from my phone seemingly ignores it!
