Spec me a van

Haha that actually looks funky for a van. I suppose it's "sporty" compared to other vans so maybe the tag is justified :D

Looking at it on youtube it did have 136bhp so maybe it was the sport with rubbish wheels? That girl is amazing though, wish I could drive like her!

i was pretty sure it was a 50th anniversary sport edition...

You can get the 140 engine without it being a sport.

The sport spec just adds the low profile tyres and stripes i think. The suspension is normal as far as i know. Leaf springs on the back.

I think the added weight in the back helped the handling tbh. Stuck to the road quite well for a van

i was given a 07, wrecked, filthy, lwb crew cab T280 transit for 3wks by the fleet lease company while my 2011 T200 75ps connect was in for a service. That auld heap of 5hite pulled better, drove better and handled better than my usual wagon ever could. Only thing that pi55ed me off about it was no BT for me fone, the radio was crap and the smell....

The sport had the Sony stereo. With full bluetooth.

The connects dont seem that high rated. Not driven one myself though. Id have a Caddy if i was choosing a van that size personally.

i can only speak to the spec we got on our fleet, but they are 5hite... 60k mls on my regular van since may 11 with 15mls on the clock, its had a bearing done, droplinks done, fuel tank breather pipe replaced, abs module freaked at 45k needed new ecu, no power, in any gear, cant get comfortable in the seats properly, fuel filters clog, loud - road noise and engine and exhaust, thirsty - 7l/100km avg, occasionally feels like the fbw throttle takes a moment to realise ive lifted off to change gears - with revs rising wen i dip the clutch well after ive my foot fully off the accelerator... And the scroll switch for dash displays is knackered, takes twisting to breaking point to get the thing to change displays. Cheap and crap......

over my work time ive driven berlingo, partner, connects, caddy, the thing opel/vauxhall had a few yrs back cant remember the name of it, focus and fiesta vans. Out of all them the caddy was my favourite...

Combo?

Didnt realise the connect was that rubbish. Id heard it was pretty bad thouhh hsha.

Yeah the caddy is the best of the bunch. Not cheap compared though, but it is just like a golf with a van back end. And who doesnt like a golf? Haha.

yeah, thats the one Toxic.

Combo wasnt bad tbf.

but the connects are awful.

both the first gen ones we had from 05 to 11 and the new ones we got from 2011 to now are just gack.

i hate driving them, i hate fuelling them, i hate feeling compelled to getting the thing washed...

A work related task that would give me the greatest pleasure would be setting fire to the things.

Only problem is i reckon they're that **** they wouldnt even burn out properly :D

I know I've had 4 Combos lol in 7 months

I do a bit of driving for the local charity - driving minibuses like.

My favourites are the Sprinter and the Crafter. The Peugeots are bloody horrible - terrible interior and god awful build quality.

Mind you, try finding a van that hasn't been hit with every branch of the ugly tree these days is a real struggle.

Mine had just been hit in to wooden trees mostly

I'd say either a crafter or sprinter

Vw transporters are a good looking van IMO, when specced up.
