Mk1 fabia vrs CCU

Featured Replies

Interior lights are powered by the CCU the 3wires coming out of the plug 6j/6 should they all be live? As all I've got at my interior lights are earths?

Posted quite a few times now with regards to my interior lights not working with not many replies or any real help :( please help guys the cars really doing my head in now :(

In the Haynes manual it shows a perm live black/yellow wire from fuse 4 going to 6j/4 on the CCU to feed the interior lights via one side of a solenoid activated switch inside the CCU.

From the other side of the solenoid switch is a red/black wire at 6j/6 which should be a live feed to the interior lights when the solenoid switch is closed.

So, check if the black/yellow wire at 6j/4 is permanently live as it should be. If so, check to see if there is a live output from the red/black wire at 6j/6.

Report findings here and I will try to help further if needed.

I think I have a spare CCU should you pinpoint its at fault.

Will report back tomorrow going to spend yet another day on it let's hope at the end of it I have working lights :0

If you drop your roof light and put a live feed from the battery to the red/black wire at the connector plug, all the interior lights should work as they are all fed from the same live. If they do it proves that there is no live feed getting to them in normal use (faulty CCU, break in wire etc). Don't touch the wire on anything else though!

If it was the CCU at fault I take it, it would need coding in

Just to recap aswell if u haven't read any of my other posts in this I got three fault codes when I first scanned the vehicle and they were

P01330 - convenience supply voltage too low intermittent

P01331 - drivers door module supply voltage too low

P01332 - passenger door module supply voltage too low

This was on my delphi scanner since then I've had it plugged into vcds and no faults were shown just the part numbers for the window modules and a fault came up on the recirculation for the heaters

Right f4 live to CCU on mine is green and red it's live all the way to the CCU then the red/black wire is a switched live I take it well it's staying green/earth when I put my powerprobe on it.

Strange how your F4 wire is a different colour to what the Haynes manual says. Still, I suppose it's not known as 'The Haynes Book of Lies' for nothing.

Yes the red/black is a switched live to the interior lights (according to Haynes). If it's not being switched by the convenience unit then it will show as earth as it is earthing through the interior light bulbs. Seems that your convenience unit is faulty to me.

I have read that the convenience units do need coding but I'm not 100% sure. I'm sure someone else will confirm.

No it's a Fabia :D

No it's a Fabia :D

:D

It did sound like a dodgy CCU - Think they can get damp.  Might be worth splitting the old one apart for purely investigative reasons :D

Yes, can't beat ripping something apart for a post-mortem
