Is there a recommended change interval for the power steering fluid. Or can anyone recommend one? Or is is it suppost to last the life of the car?  Can't seem to find any mention of it in the manual. Is there a colour change in old fluid? Surely over time it will break down, and/or accumulate metal particles. Pump was changed around 10 years since so might have been done then, but thats still a long time.

No need to change the fluid really, the system takes less than a litre from dry and uses a pale green colour mineral based oil.

My 14 year old Felicia still has the original factory-filled power steering fluid and after 211,000 miles has had no issues.

 

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Cheers, I will not bother changing it then, as seen as it's about £20 p/l from EPC.

I resued mine when I changed pipes on the fun for the air con :-) got to love take away tubs.

  also the amount of times I have used a pop bottle with end cut off as a funnel
