air filter

Featured Replies

Chap opposite our home has a Corsa....has a sport air filter on it..K&N I believe.

Now how do I know this without actually looking under his bonnet?

Because it hanging down to below the front bumper infront of the front right hand wheel.

Now I can understand why he thinks this is a good idea but surely, in real terms it's bad...I mean it more likely to pick up crap, get damaged and what happens when it rains?

I doubt hydrolok would be an issue but then filter must really get knackered.

Must get a pic....now where's that telephoto lens. ;)

You said it though

:wrthless:

Looks for a nice puddle....

Bang, end of.

I can't wait to see this happening!

Seen it happen loads. You only need enough water to hydraulic one cylinder. On a 1800 cc engine that 450cc or just under half a litre, the engine will suck that up in no time. And whilst an engine is quite happy to compress air/fuel, water is a different matter.

Ive seen a techie do it with a small can of Forte fuel injector cleaner on a Vauxhall engine. An old remedy of thiers was to add the injector cleaner neat through a vacuum hose @ 2500 rpm. It was supposed to clean the valves up to stop them sticking. Well the trick was to dip the hose in the cleaner a drop at a time. He stuffed the tube in there, it drank the hole lot in a second and blew one of the conrods and the contents of the sump at his feet....twonk.

Lets hope that sad bugger's Corsa does the same then !! :)
