Clutch biting point moving?

Featured Replies

The other day my biting point on my vrs was odd, the pedal was very snappy and off or on. It's never been like this. So I assumed it would be a hydraulic issue.

So I removed the gearbox and replaced the slave cylinder and master cylinder. It was ok for a few miles then a few days later it back to how it was. The pedal is horried. You can feel the clutch juddering threw the pedal some time like it's dragging a bit. The clutch plate and dmf is 5k and 5 months old. It's a cg paddle clutch. When the box was off I checked it plate and the operation on the pressure plate and all looked ok.

Anyone else had this or heard of it?

well now i can have it in 1st and hold the clutch pedal down and leave it for a few secs like sitting at a set of lights and the car started to pull away by its self

The vibration Is caused by a distorted clutch plate as for the moving away when the pedal is on the floor you may need to bleed it up again.

I've bleed it a couple of times with a pressure bleed kit and no air coming out at all. at one point i was raving about theses clutch maybe not anymore

Do you sit at traffic lights holding the biting point?

Are you sure you dont have a leak?

  • Author

100% sure there is no leak. It's all new all the way threw and checked a few times.

They have sent you the right parts?

is the DMF ok?

is the plate all secure? Mine had loose bits

I'll have a read on that, I should add its been fitted for 5months now and this problem happend within 1hr of driving it in to the work shop as I drove it out it happened

I've got the exact same issue. Got a cg dual friction kit and smf. I've read about the shim that can be put in the end of the main shaft. Going to try that as well as changing the clutch master cylinder as that was the only part that wasent changed.

Did you fit new seals/o rings on the bleed nipple part? One either end?

New seals yea mate. So does your clutch just feel pants to then and the biting point can be where it wants where ever

Yeah proper crap! One minute it's at the normal height then it's right at the bottom and I mean right at the bottom. Stalled a few times now!

Have you looked at the nls clutch shim?
