fun fuel pump relay

Recommended Posts

hello chaps... has any one any pics of where and which one is the fuel pump relay please

i have a 99 , 1.6 petrol

the car would not start the other day so called "recovery", matey said there was power to the fuel pump, so the pump looked like the problem

ordered one, changed it today, and still the same.... turns over but no fuel flowing

i checked the voltage, and there is NOT any electrickery getting to the pump (well 7.7v)

the spade type fuses are fine, but do not seem to have power either, so i would like to try the fuel pump relay

and does any one know which terminals i would have to connect, to by pass the relay

thanks  folks.................. Keith

The fuel pump relay is earthed by the ecu to switch it on, the ecu is highly unlikely to be at fault, it's more likely to be else where, is the igniton switch working properly?

I'd always advise making some basic checks like fuses and switches before spending any money.

got the photos.......

1st 2 are the plastic back plate of the fuse box..you can see water damage and where it has got hot and started to melt the plastic..

the next 2 are the tracks that connect the fuses and relays, again you can see damage and where they have lifted up
