Both Favorits Keyed

Featured Replies

Went to go out in one of my Favorit Estates  tonight and found it had been keyed all down one side. When I got back thought I would check the other one and found that had been keyed even worse.

The first one I have only had two weeks and have not really done any work on it and it is in sportine red which is an easy colour to paint. The one that is keyed worse is in Sea Green metallic and is an awful colour to paint and needs lacquer on top - that car has been 90% restored having had over £3000 spent on it this year - all of the keyed panels were ones painted this August.

All I can do now is wait until the weekend and patch it up to stop it rusting until the weather improves in the spring to allow them to be painted properly.

Wish I could find out and prove who it is and could take them to court. I would def sue for the cost of a full body respray

That's rotten bad luck that, if I caught somebody keying a car of mine that had been freshly resprayed I'd set my dogs on them.

What a joke. My deepest sympathies. Your Favorits sound nice though.

Painted the red one yesterday and found whoever had keyed them had done it with something that had left an oily residue - so had a real problem getting rid of that so that paint wouldn't react.

Painted the other one today - just as hard to get clean - but managed to paint it O.K. - but just after I had put on the lacquer it started to rain - so that lacquer has now gone a little cloudy - will try to sort it out again next week if the weather is any better.

Police were good came round to have a look at them and spent about 30 mins - told me I could put up a cctv as long as it is only pointing at the cars and not towards anyones window and that if I did that and it caught anyone on the camera keying them in the future they would use it to prosecute for criminal damage.
