Bulb Stuck In Light Unit.

Featured Replies

Last night I was removing a sidelight bulb when it came off and fell into the light unit.

Does anyone know how to take the lens off and gain access to the light unit?

It's a 2010 model.

I don't know for sure on the Yeti, but typically the lens is bonded to the backing, requiring it to be heated in the oven and then prised apart. Can't you just remove the headlight and tip the bulb out?

Small piece of tube connected to vacuum cleaner?

:dull:  Great.

Thanks guys. Luckily I know a Skoda service manager.

How about fishing it out with a stiff bit of wire with something sticky on the end like a screwed up ball of sellotape, or blutack or something like that.

Or one of those magnets-on-the-end-of-an-aerial thingies?  Are the contacts ferromagnetic?

I guess if you take the headlight bulb out you get better access for fiddling.

I think the contacts should be brass but some part of the bulb casing should be ferromagnetic. I've got one of those small torches that extends via a flexible section and that has a very strong magnet on the end of it. You should see what else it pulls out of my toolbox when I remove it!

Genius idea Weasley. I never thought of that.

Same thing happened to me, it was a bumper off job to get it out!!

Tried all the suggested solutions plus a flexible device with a grabber on the end!!
