Rear Parking Bulb Gone

Featured Replies

Check that it has actually blown first as there is a history of false signals.

Yes, did check, definitely not working

You need page 237 of the owners manual. If you don't have a hard copy in the car you can download it as a PDF here...

(Ignore the bulb descriptions, they are ordered incorrectly, another bright move by Skoda in one of their manuals).

To access the rear bulbs on a 2010 estate you foirst need to remove the entire rear light cluster, this sounds worse than it is, it's a couple of easily accessible torx screws (you can use the wrench in the spare wheel kit).

You then unplug the electrical connector so that you can take the cluster (and all bulbs) into the warmth of your own house. This however isn't required as once the cluster is freed from the body of the car the length of wire is long enough for you to remove the cluster far enough away from the car to access the bulb holders. However by releasing the watertight rubber gromet you can release the electrical connector and remove the cluster completely.

This also minimises the risk of the back of the cluster touching and scratching the paintwork whislt you fiddle with the bulbs.

You need a new W16W bulb which is not a common bulb...

Another handy alternative if you don't have a hard copy of the car manual if you have an ipad is the Skoda Manual App which as well as being an electronic version of your manual will also notify you of any recalls for your car. :)

Yes, they are the ones.

As always though to be 100% sure it is always advisable to first remove the failed bulb to cross-check.
