Looking on fleabay octavia motors are few and far between but if a golf,bora one can be used they are far cheaper? They look very very similar but do they need any coding?

Check the part numbers if the same then they can be used

There are many variations between models with some not locking the back doors.

Also Octavia will have 2 different types which can't be mixed / swopped

No. Most golfs have a maxidot display which has a different door control unit

Theres plenty of octavias breaking for parts on here. Someone will have one
