I have been a **** and reversed yes with sensors into another car. Not a scratch on theirs my corner crumpled. Pdc still works but need a replacement bumper.

Is it a fit job to remove and fit a new one with sensors or a bitch? Trying to save some money after being such a numpty

From memory, the lights, panels under the lights have to come off, then its find the fixings, wheel arch I think there is 4 each side, then 2 inside the boot after removing most of the carpet and slam panel, should slide the bumper off enough to disconnect the PDC wiring, unless its in the boot (mine don't have it).

Surely you can pop that dent out if your sensors still work and fit a new reflector? I did it with my old Fiesta. Older car i know but you'd not be able to tell i had a bump.

Try gently heating with a hairdryer first then press it out.

Then 'Chips Away' style repair to any scratching.

Removing bumper requires all the boot trim to come out as well as the rear lights.

Fairly easy but time consuming.

They would do: more money for them!

 

Try popping it out first and the reassess the damage.

 

Another option that works very well is to remove the bumper and prop it up off the ground (use a couple of chairs) so that the damaged section is hanging down in free space. Fill the inside curve of the bumper above the dent with warm (not hot) water and watch the dent drop out like magic. It may need a little persuasion by hand, but generally it works very well.

I've just reversed into a small metal post, sensors completely missed it. That'll teach me for relying on them too much! Don't know whether to just buy a new bumper or get it touched up?
