Dtuk / Dte Pedal Box

Featured Replies

I have a DTE Pedal Box that I don't want due to having just taken out a new insurance policy and not wanting to go through the 'modified' insurance changes and penalty charges and having to declare everything every year, etc.

So I'm selling it to someone who will hopefully appreciate it and also actually notice the difference it makes.

I've not tried it or used it in any way, so I can make no comment on its performance, but it is brand new direct from DTUK who sell these for £229 (although there is a 10% online discount at present).

I don't think that it makes any difference what VW / Skoda car you have (please check and correct me if I am wrong) so this should fit any recent Skoda with electronic / 'fly by wire' accelerator pedal.

I'm after £170 including Special Delivery by Royal Mail.

Apparently there is an additional forum discount available, so I'm reducing this to a bargain £140 + postage.

Some reports say that it won't affect your insurance premium as it offers no power increase. I have no intention of arguing with mine over this so looking to offer it out at a great price.

Did you ever sell it Karl?

Are these essentially a tuning box?

No. I still have it. Had a few equities over Christmas, but nothing followed through to purchase.

Are these essentially a tuning box?

Not in the same sense as a remap or DTUK tuning box as this makes no difference to engine power. What it does is speed up the throttle pedal response command to the engine so that the existing power is applied sooner.

My only concern is whether it would have a negative effect on my linear throttle map.

No idea I am afraid.

Email DTE and ask them. They responded to my query within 48 hours with a very detailed response.

From what I have gathered from the description of these. Is that it compliments a remap etc. As it is adjusting how much throttle is used. (Some throttles dont go all the way to 100% open). Could be wrong but thats the impression I got.

Me to, but I'm no expert so did not want to comment and commit myself.

As I understand it this will not change the map / power / response of the engine, only speed up the response time of the signal from the accelerator pedal to the engine.

They are sold as a compliment to their tuning boxes not a replacement for them; so I would expect it to work without modifying any existing engine remap.

As I siad, I am no expert though.

Would this work with a remapped car or would it be pointless?
