Brown Trousers moment this Morning!

Featured Replies

I've been doing this commute for the last 3 years and 2 months!! without a single indecent!!

Now I'm on my last but one day of working out this way...

I was sitting at the Lights outside the big Tesco's in Slough, about 6:20am, minding my own business waiting for the lights to change, when I hear a noise behind me to the left. As I glance around I see a guy trying my passenger door handle, whilst his mate is still standing by my rear passenger door still trying the handle (the noise I heard!).

Thankfully the light turned to green, even though I'd not initially noticed, as I stuffed the car in gear and floored it off round the roundabout...

Thank god I have the 'Anti-Hijack' switched on on my Fabia (auto locks the doors at 10mph)

I have no description of them other than Hoodies and Jeans! It was still dark, and their heads were above the roofline... only noticed the hoodies as I glanced back in my mirror to see them legging it into Tesco's carpark!

I'm off to Slough Police Station on my way home at 12:30 to report it, but as I have no description I don't hold out much hope for them getting caught!!

It isn't fit for humans now . . .

It was really useful knowing that last night, when I was watching Pointless.

Topic moved to general car chat.

Hopefully, there were some fingers left lying on the ground...

Shame anti-hijack flamethrowers aren't allowed in the UK..... ;-)

Tesco not have any cctv?

First thing I did when I bought the Fabia was have the central locking system changes to 'all doors lock at around 10mph'. It really is a great thing to prevent hijacking or goods being nicked off the back seat etc. It's just a bit of a pain when passengers try to open the doors before the engine has been switched off as they have to pull twice and usually end up yanking furiously at the door handles  . Still your experience proved the system and I'm glad you're okay.

What years your car mate?

I dont have this problem. My car just lets the passengers open the door with a single pull of the lever, like you usually would.

There is a function that unlocks the car when ignition key is removed.

I think it might be available via a secret menu on the maxidot....

Yeah thats usually on with anti hijack.

He means when the engines running though.

Sounds like its abit tough for his passengers to escape. I dont know if thats good or bad for him....

Been there too, gives you a scare for sure. Little did I know at the time but the group that tried to get in my car had just beaten a man nearly to death. Lucky me my doors were locked.

Hmm finger printing sure but let me put it this way I'd never let the police have my car again.

Sl-ahhh ain't so bad. Sure, there are what the libbies might call deprived areas but generally it's no worse than many UK towns/cities. Shame the OP was a regular bloke on his way to work and not an IRA gunman having a quick kip in it. (Ancient news article made me smile back in the 80s/90s, dead feef and caught IRA man).
