Elegance Aux Sound Problem

Featured Replies

Not quite understanding the radio manual on this one guys,

I bought a short Aux to Female USB lead thinking I could plug it into the Aux socket and plug a USB stick in the other end with MP3s on it and play it through the radio (Bolero)

The Aux is enabled in the set up menu but the little red light on the usb stick isnt flashing and its not reading it. Should it work with this set up?

No sorry.  The aux socket is only a simple audio feed, it can't read the files on the USB.  There needs to be a device at the other end playing the music.

Thanks Adam, thought the idea sounded to good to be true lol.

So if I had an mp3 player, and it had a aux out socket I would connect it to this Aux port with a cable and it would then play music from the mp3 player through the cars speakers would it?

I think the Bolero has a SD card socket on the front, so you should be able to put your MP3's on an SD card and the unit will play them for you without the need of a wire and MP3 player.

If you do want to use an external device, connect the stereo AUX in to the devices headphone socket and you should be good. You'll need to use the device to play/pause/skip etc and make sure the volume is turned up on it too.

Yes that is sound advice to use the sd card as you will have control on the head unit and presumably it shouldn't be too much hassle to copy the music from the usb stick to the card.
