Xenon adjustment VCDS newbie query

Featured Replies

Hi folks,

I need to have a look at the alignment of the factory Xenons in my Mk1 Fabia vRS. The depth of dipped beam seems really short and even on main beam the light could do with being 40m further up the road.

The car is lowered by 25mm on eibach springs and the lights havent been adjusted since. Its been through an MOT so would have thought the lights alignment would have been checked but i cant remember the beam tester being wheeled infront of the car LOL!

So, question is, i have VCDS and the lap top, what do i need to do to set the lights correctly. Do i have to bring it to work, get it on the MOT ramp, then set the "level" part of the lights using VCDS then adjust the lights manually with the beam tester and the manual adjusters? Like normal headlights? Then does the car learn that as a default setting????

I appreciate it cant be done at home, just need to know the right way of tackling it as the current light output / range is crap compared to what it should be like (Had one from new in 2005 so remember how good the xenons were back then)

Im aware there is only one level sensor on the fabia Vrs on the n/s/r of the rear beam, anyone got a pic of what it should look like so i can make sure that aint goosed as well?

Ta!

Matt
