Really can't comment, it might just be a hedge or a sign or a lamppost, if it is another car with people in that would be unfortunate.

I always think some new drivers sometimes need to have a little bit of a bump to make them realise.

This guys driving a bmw though. So hes likely not new to the whole driving thing.

Also. A head on collision is very possible there. Which could easily kill the innocent.

The type of car means nothing, could've been a named driver or found it cheaper to insure than a more crashed car

2 seconds = possibility of killing someone = Jail,

2 seconds really isn't worth years for man slaughter or death by dangerous driving, he needs to slow down a bit. Better to be late than in a ditch up side down or worse still kill or injure someone else

£80 fine and a suspended sentence is prob affordable, no deterrent for the driver risking other peoples lives. If he was faced with 'The Midnight Express' perhaps he would care.

But generally bmw's attract an older or middle aged driver.

Bmw's selling point isnt cheap insurance. We have fabias for that ;).

I thought that was normal for BMW drivers

The guy is driving like an absolute c*ck. I suspect though it wouldn't really matter what car he was driving. He's behaving like a c*ck because that's just what he is.

Gotta laugh at all the BMW-driver stereotyping. It's abit like assuming all skoda drivers are penny-pinching poor people who can't afford a decent car. Lol :-)

Seriously though. A lot of the impatient dangerous overtakes I've seen have been by a 2.0 tdi bmw or audi. With a rep driving.

I agree we shouldnt stereotype, but a lot of em do seem to drive these cars in this way, more so than cars from other manufacturers.

We arent talking m135's here Tom. They can only dream of one of those lol.

Strangely in my area BMW drivers seem to be largely on par with everyone else (generally crap!) but Skoda drivers.......... FML I am getting to the point I am embarrassed to drive one. Randomly I just changed from a nice 530D to a Mk1 Octavia because I saw it, liked it and bought it, then sold the BMW. Yesterday a learner car on lesson (Fiesta ST) in front of me was doing at least 40 in a 30 by the rate it was pulling away....... that is also not unusual. Same car when it's just the instructor driving, is driven atrociously!

I follows a corsa instructor car the other day, behind a lorry.

Was quite surprised when he pulled out and overtook on solid double white lines in a dip. Didnt see that one coming, i must admit.

Fiesta ST? Theres a Mini Cooper S along with a few other fairly pokey hatches as learner cars around here.

Why do they have such cars? Is it some way of getting a nice car for themselves and offsetting it against the business?

Must be terrible on fuel though.

Because getting to learn in a sporty car appeals to young people which means more business for the instructor.

It's not down to the car. I see plenty of Skoda's being driven badly, just like I see BMW's, Peugeots, Audi's, Ford's or anything else.

It really does not matter what brand of car you have that determines how you drive it and I have to add not every BMW has a rep in it.

I have driven all my cars in the same way and have had a fair few makes.

Peugeot 306

VW Passat

Audi A4

BMW 5

Skoda yeti

BMW 1

BMW 3

to name a few, if I am on the motorway I will happily keep up with the flow, A roads I am more than happy to overtake when safe to do so, if I am in a long queue I tend not to overtake.

I think the way people drive is to do with how safe the driver feels in his/her car, we are wrapped up in airbags, crumple zones and we have traction control, stability aids and ABS with grippy tyres, all of which build confidence and security, until a driver has had an accident they do not know how fast things can happen when it all goes wrong.

Driving on a skid pan, learning the cars limits and getting to know that you can die or be seriously injured in a car is the only way to slow people down, until then we can all be certain that we will witness again what we have seen in the video on the opening post of this thread, I am sure it will happen in many different makes of car with many different types of people driving too.

Because folks are so materialistic these days and think others are impressed by appearances add to that most cars aren't owned but rented (however you dress it up) then any idiot can be driving pretty much any time of car.

Same as air passengers, used to be only clean living decent folks now any scumbag can fly.

I sound like a right snob posting this but it is quite true.

PMSL at the only clean living people that used to fly.

I am past middle age and scum have gone on Package Holidays all my life.

& on Cruises.

Before things got cheaper i am not so sure that those with more money or income were any nicer people.

Travelling salespeople,  travellers, 'reps',  have had company cars all my life as well.

& people with nice cars were as much a cross section of the community as the often hard working ones with not so nice or new cars.

?

Did the likes of the Krays & Richardsons and other Gangland figures not run protection rackets,

torture & murder, own scrap yards, clubs, pubs and other businesses, own properties abroad and drive nice cars?

Nice clean living young people.

They more than likely "owned" the cars.

Legally or not but owned none the less.

Sorry, missing your point.

Do people that buy cars automatically drive better & more sensibly than people that Lease or Hire them?

Looking at the telematics systems I used to in work, I'd say yes lol

No I mean that as cars are so accessible nowadays often the "type" of person you expect to be driving a "type" of car is far from it.

So many have no idea of the real cost of the car they are driving, it's as if it is a disposable item and they look after it as such. Which is why so many folks bang their car doors into yours in car parks and when you speak to them about it (no matter how politely) they look at you as if you are about to rape their mother.

I dno about driving style but they defo look after them much better of theyre their own.

I treat my car with the maximum of care.

I know people who are financing that just dont care. I mean, theyre giving them back in 3 years anyway. So who cares. They dont.

I appreciate some people do. Especially if theyre actually interested in cars

But it's not really financing, it's renting just dressed up with other terms and nothing left at the end of the period.

Depends what plan theyre on i guess.
