Fogged up windscreen

Featured Replies

I've had my Octavia for 7 years now and about this time of year the windscreen gets all misted up. The blower is useless, however there is a simple cure.I found this out years ago when I was a Police motorcyclist, out in all weathers. I retired 7 years ago... what we did to stop visors misting up. Just get some thick kitchen roll and a couple of drops of Fairy liquid. Apply it to the windscreen when it's dry, make sure it's well rubbed in and you'll have no more misting on your screen.

Thanks for that I'll give it a go

Wouldn't it be better to try and sort out the cause as I never used to suffer that problem?

Better brains than you and I have tried, this is just what I've found that works.

If anything I'd stick to the old Bob Heath or whatever it was called, better than washing up liquid but I know what you mean.

Never needed visor demister after fitting nose shield to helmet... Happy days.

Too used to ease of car and comfort these days, getting kitted up everyday was a pain but miss ability to make good progress on today's congested roads, I'd be paranoid+ on 2 wheels re speeding, it's bad enough on 4.

I always have mine opened a bit, but still steams up now and then

I agree with you mm.... it's to easy to jump in the car then get kitted up plus as you say, it's to easy to speed on the bike, I've always got one eye on the speedo lol....can't beat the thrill though

@cleo

Get yourself a Nolan bone dome with aerodynamic top, chin and forehead vents.

The top has a venturi scoop which draws warm/moist internal air up and out, the chin and forehead vents are adjustable and great on hot days.

Much bike idiocy can be attributed to a hot head easily compounded by all the clobber on a hot day, ever noticed how car drivers standards are worse when it's warm.

Stay cool, stay sharp, stay in control. stay alive... you know what I mean.

Sorry ex instructor.
