Armrest Fitting

Featured Replies

Where can I buy one or get one fitted in my vRS?

Asked at the Dealers and he wasn't sure, but reckoned I could get one fitted 'after market' via them and quoted me 'about'

The parts are listed in ETKA so your dealer should be able to order them. There are quite a few pages listing different versions and colours so it isn't an entirely straightforward exercise - but at least one member has had it done.

Can get a leather one from Butts for around

If I were you, I'd do an internet search and see if you can find a breaker with a good spec Octavia listed (ie one with an armrest!) The interior condition is normally pretty good on VW/Audi group cars

My guess on price -

Steve Bing (steveredvrs) has just fittted one to his vRS - I know he had the list of parts faxed to him from Skoda customer care -- you could try PM him to see if he's still got the list.

I wouldn't mind one of these, can you get them in leather to match the seats?? (vRS)

I have recently fitted an armrest to my vRS - eventually with a leather top (to match the seats)

It was really difficult to get all the correct parts from the dealer - despite help from Skoda UK.

The first armrest that arrived had a cloth top.

The dealer reordered a leather top - but got a whole new armrest (with the leather top already fitted)

As the front profile of both armrests were different, you could not just change the top - so had to take the first armrest out and replace it with the new one!!!!!

Once you have the metal brackets bolted into the car, the actual armrest itself is fairly easy to change - luckily!!

As I have SatNav fitted - I did not have a cubby hole to put things in beneath the radio - so I really needed an armrest to store the phone, remote control (for SatNav), sunglasses etc.

At least with the VAG armrests you have a choice of positions - and in the lowest position I dont find that it gets in the way of the gear change (although it is more awkward to use the handbrake)

Steve

If you stick it on the lowest and click-up one stop, I find that this position is a good compromise - it then doesn't get in the way of the handbrake... :D

Steve, are you coming to the national? If so, I wouldn't mind taking a good look at yours (oooeer).

I will be at Oulton Park on Saturday - as my wife is working there.

My car should be parked in the medical centre compound - next to the ambulances!!!

By all means give me a shout!

Steve

Doh! We'll be hitting the roads on Saturday and Oulton on Sunday...

Steveredvrs - I wanted to drag up this old thread to ask if you can remember the price you ended up paying for the leather armrest, and if you have the part(s) codes still?

Finally, do you have any pics of your nav install?

Thanks for the help.

Right - I think I can now give you the details of what you need to order.

As I said before, my dealer made a right mess up of the parts ordering for the armrest.

They were fantastic at putting it right though and we got there in the end!!!

The actual parts you require are 67a, 67b, 67c, 67d, 68a, 68b, 69, 70, 75, 76, 77 and 78 - on the EKTA parts catalogue drawing

You do not need any other parts on that drawing

Parts 67a,b,c and d are actually ordered as one part - for a vRS with a black leather interior you need part number 3B0864209N with Trim Code LUL - this is already made up of the parts 67a-d and costs a whopping

Thanks, Steve - much obliged.

Got a price for the leather armrest -

so is both the lid and the lower part covered in leather??

  • Author

Just the lid. The main body is the same finish as the standard centre console.
