Windows opening unexpectedly

Featured Replies

Over the last couple of weeks both my wife's Fabia and today my vRS windows have come down to 15cm from fully down without and input from us.

Any ideas as to what we can do about this?

Have you had the key in your pocket?

If you press and hold the 'unlock' button the windows will go down.

Any chance that could of happened unintentionally?

Yes, but it's just started over the last couple of weeks.  It could be local interference.

Is it after rain?

Could be the comfort module thing getting damp?

Do you have wind deflectors?

Might be worth trying new batteries in the remotes? Bit of a long shot but an easy opion to try.

Disable function with VCDS, no more props

It's happened with my vrs about 4 times in the last year. My front windows were both completely down. Every time it's happened, it's been on my drive, so I'm also wondering if it's some local interference.

Apparently it's been happening on some seats according to one of the forums. Some guys said that when his neighbour unlocked her car, it sometimes opened his windows. Very strange!

This can also be a sign of a dodgy door lock switch.

Moisture gets into it and triggers the switch which opens the windows.
