Guess who flunked MOT

Featured Replies

Went to get the car mot-ed, taxed and registered for the next year and wooohooo it failed. So while the guy was testing the brakes i noticed that the front left wheel moved backwards about 2 cm when he hit the btake. Sadly he noticed it aswell and took it as an opener to find a milion other small totaly unimportant things. Something obviously fell apart during the test itself. I had the car looked at yesterday by a colegue from work (mechanic) and he said it will pass. The ****** technician however didn't think it was necesary to tell me what actualy happened. Other than that he did say the handbrake needs some work and that the led back plate lights need to go as they are apparently illegal here. Emmisions were good so that made me happy since that was the only thing i was afraid of. Now i did set up a service to get it sorted and will do the oil/filters, brake pads and discs while it's there, so the question is....what the f*** happened with the wheel and at what price should i be looking at....something expensive or not? Car is 2000 octy estate 1.9TDI 66kW 90hp.

That sort of movement sounds like bushes?

Badly knackered balljoints?

Probably the rear bush on the lower suspension arms.
