Flickering dash lights when attempting to start, car fired up but cut straight out several times, car left in sun for two hours and started fine? Should add there had been a very heavy frost.

Could this be battery on way out, why does car start but then cut out?

I had this problem couple of weeks ago. New battery sorted the problem.
