Yes..It was for real Andy

She really did!!

Good job you don't live near me Chris you would have all been as white as the car, we had plenty of snow yesterday and another downpour this morning. Plus expecting more this aft.

Looks nice outside though.

It was snowing lightly this morning and heavy sleet last night

I can imagine what it was like where you are...Its always the first to get some snow there

Has anyone else found that a well protected car seems to attract frost and ice worse than a filthy one?  In particular sealed glass.

My car was the only one on my road that looked like an ice cube this morning.  Other grubbier examples all had clear windshields.

Water beading behaviour rather than sheeting will freeze

Maybe thats why

Could be but the cars on the road are neither sheeting nor beading, they are fully grotty and unprotected.

It's an interesting one, I have Obession Wax Hybrid '86 on the car at the moment and that sits between sheeting and beading depending on the panel angle being a hybrid.

It's just on cold days the glass sealant (Ghost Rider) always seems to attract condensation too, this then freezes (guess if this is microbeads, then that makes sense) but never with the frozen beads others have captured on film.

My thinking was that it could simply be down to clean paintwork and glass having less contamination on it which means the water on the screen and bonnet etc is clean and so freezes more easily.

What is satisfying is that putting the blowers on the screen in the car cause the ice to loosen quickly as if it was struggling to stay bound to the polymers on the glass.
