Multicar

Anyone got any tips on providers?

Using Admiral at the moment but the renewal was eye watering. Been on the phone and they've dropped a bit but need some other options.

Octavia VRS Mk1 and Volvo V70 D5 both estates.

Cheers

LV? Have you also tried seperate quotes? I ended up saving money switching from an Admiral multicar policy a couple of years ago to seperate ones. I think Aviva also do multicar policies. Seems to be a trend with Admiral, low quote for 1st year then whammy. You could also see what they'd charge a a new customer by putting your details in again. I did that with my home insurance and saved a lot with the same company!

Try the Briskoda Insurance scheme. We'd be very happy to look at the vehicles for you. We'll place each with the best provider for that individual vehicle so you benefit from the maximum saving. There's an extra £20 discount too when you bring 2 vehicles to us.

Same issue.

I have 9 cars to insure at the end of this month!

If we can help you too, BossFox, we'd be very glad to.

Hi,

We offer a multicar style policy which will give you discount for each vehicle. Feel free to give me a PM and I can arrange a call back to see what we can do.

Regards,

Dan.

Hi,

Again, we are able to offer a policy to cover those 9. If you wanted to PM me some contact details I can arrange to take some details.

Dan.

A little tear nearly dropped into my tea when I read that :(

Aviva do multicar. Try admiral as a new customer you'd be surprised how low the preium drops.

The problem with Admiral is the multi-car policy is limited to 5.

So I have 5 on that and I get good rates.

But if I want more cars insured with them it's a whole new multi-car policy with no discount.

They want £500 for each of my lovely Fantasy Green Fabias.  On a limited milage of 2,000 per year.  Which is rather obsurd when I'm almost 40 and live in a quiet village.

It works out to noticably more per 13 year old Fabia that I'm paying on the two year old Yeti...

Saved myself nearly £300 with Admiral for 3 cars last year going on the comparison sites compared to their initial renewal figure, and, to be fair, they took little persuasion to come down to it, just a shame I had to do the donkey work

I'm sure they presume you will just automatically renew without checking

You must be almost fit to get a trade policy and trade plates with your car turn over lol

I have the same with my Admial Multicar policy every year. Ignore the renewal.

Go onto the website and run another quote as a new customer.

It will be miles cheaper.

Only then do you ring them, give them the online quote reference number so they can see what you can see and all of a sudden they'll happily match it.

In addition to this I also run separate quotes on the likes of GoCompare and money supermarket.com etc. and the 'new customer' Admiral Multicar quote is almost always cheaper.

The one year it wasn't Admiral still matched it!

We are very happy with our Multicar Policy with Aviva

You could try LV they don't do muticar policies, treat as separate. But what they do/did for me was mirror my NCD off my main car policy on to my 2nd car which only had 2 years NCD originally. I moved to LV from Aviva because of the price hike. The renewal came from LV last month, so second year with them just paid up and they price matched others on compare sites as I'd done my searches prior to ringing them up to renew. It was only a few quid saved as their renewal price was good,  but still a saving all the same.

esure have sent me an email this week offering multicar discount of 10% & matched NCD, the only catch being that it only applies for a spouse.

"Our Multicar policies have separate renewal dates. The policies are kept separate, so if you make a claim on one policy, it won't affect the other.

Multicar is only available for your spouse/partner's policy or for any other policy you have with us. Unfortunately, other family member's policies can't be included in Multicar, although we may be able to add them as named drivers."
