It there a workshop manual for these cars - haynes say spring 2006 & I don't want to wait until then to service it !!

There are a couple of German ones if you speak that language. Failing that, you could do what I have done and buy a Haynes VW Golf & Bora 2001 to 2003 (X to 53 reg) 4-cyl Petrol & Diesel Service and Repair Manual. The Haynes code is 4169.

Remember the Haldex coupling needs new oil every 20k and oil filter every 40k

That looks like a lot of official parts lists on CD, eg ETKA and ETOS. Could you please let us know what the Skoda Octavia Service Manual actually is if you manage to buy one from that site?
