Question about the Skoda fitted Dog Guard

Featured Replies

Does the dealer fitted dog guard allow you to use the parcel shelf when not carrying the dogs?

Without having to remove the guard I'm thinking!

It does fit with the Skoda dog guard in, but is very fiddly getting it in and out, it's not just a straightforward slide in and out. It's a case of tilting it at certain angles and it's a very tight fit through the hatch as you are restricted by the grille. Maybe with practise you could get used to doing it, but on both my Yetis I took it out when the guard was fitted and never put it back due to the hassle.

The Load Net doubles as a dog guard - much easier to insert/remove and fits absolutely fine with the parcel shelf.

I have no idea why people really persist with dog guards since this was introduced....

That 'Load Net' looks to be a very useful safety whatsit.  But - does it need factory roof fittings, as it seems to?

Yes but you can retro fit them.

The load net wouldn't be much use stopping my Bullmastiff crashing into the front in the event of an accident I think.

I bought a Travall guard for my Yeti as I didn't want to take a drill to my new car and I bought pre registered.

I think you underestimate the strength of it.

Just like GreenlineIIEstate, I was really put off by having to drill into my Octavia Estate. So I chose the Travall dog guard too.
