225 or 235 tyres on 8.5 19" wheels for Octavia 2?

Featured Replies

As above which width tyres are best for my new 19's for my 2010 Octavia vRS, my new wheels are 8.5 wide with an ET40 offset.

Mine isn't as new and not a vrs, but a mk2 1.9tdi....when i got it about a month ago it had 17s with 225/45 and 245/45, it's seemingly also been lowered about 30mm, I found it to much that I put 16s on with 205/55s all round. Maybe some like the bigger wheels and tyres but I prefer some comfort, having said that, it might have not to bad if it hadn't been lowered. But I personally think the tyres are to wide for the Octy, especially the 245s but that's me

I just noticed you're talking about 19s, my god and here's me moaning about 17s, then again maybe if I had 205 or 215 on them it'd be different.....but I dont, and couldn't get them on either as the wheels are to wide at 7.5 and 8.5

225 if you want a slight stretch

It'd look odd
