If i had

What could i get done to my 1.8T Elegance at somewhere like Jabba for this sort of cash???

I obviously want a re-map but what else could i get done with the left over cash. Could i maybe get the handling/suspension improved at the same time?

I am going to get some insurance quotes first but providing they are not too extreme then i think it will be all systems go for a trip to Jabba.

Just got to wait til new baby arrives too......already a day over due, typical women though, always keep you waiting. :)

Thanks for any advice

I would go on Holiday and thats the truth.

1K just isn't enough.

thats strange because i am sure that a member on here has had his elgance 1.8T remapped by jabba and has been very happy with it.

And as far as i know a remap is not

Thats right. I pm'd him after he had it done and he said he was very impressed. I am after doing the same sort of thing. But also maybe doing something to the suspension.

I have heard mixed reports on lowering the suspension though so not really sure what to do in that respect. I don't want a really harsh ride, just a bit firmer/less body roll.

any suggestions

ps after doing a search of some posts on here i have even found some 1.8T Elegance Autos that have been remapped but not a lot on altering the suspension on an Elegance

Things to complement a remap would be best, i.e a sports exhaust or air filter/C.A.I

Other than that, maybe finding a complete vRS suspension setup second hand would be a good economical suspension upgrade?

Oh, and do the BRAKES. ;) People like to go faster, but often neglect to realise they want to stop from those quicker speeds a little more reliably/safely.

you can exatly he same to the elegance 1.8T as the vRS as with all other mods as they are the same car just a different trim really.

a few of us have 4x4 elegances's and have done a fair few things to them and got the same figres as the vRS boys :)

with that 1k i woul get brakes and suspension done before power, it depends on how far you want to go in the end really.

if you are thinking about exhaust/intake etc in the future then get them done before the re-map to get the most out of it :)

If i wanted to do something re the suspension, what sort of aftermarket spring would people reccomend???

I have seen some G-max for just over

if were me mate i'd get bigger brakes not just better pads/discs

some vRS brakes woud be good as they are slightly bigger and bolt straight on :)

don't know about springs as i got some coil ovrs from another member :)

but also get some strut braces and things, will totally change the handling of the car with braces, springs etc :)

save the rest for a better itake/exhaust/re-map :)

don't i need new calipers with the vRS disks??

think so

that slope is more slippery than an frozen slope made of oil with baby oil freely flowing over it and you trying to stand it on wearing a well oiled wet suit :)

Oh and don't forget the well oiled rubber glove your Bank Manager has.

And what does that do for your clutch' date=' brakes, suspension, turbo etc, etc

as I said not enough money, slippery slope and all that.[/quote']

well there is an easy way to find out isn't there??

why don't you start a poll and ask how many people have blown their turbos etc after a remap? I accept that the clutch will wear faster but i doubt that it would go overnight. If i am incorrect then i am sure somone who acutally has experience of driving a 1.8T engined car before and after a remap could comment.

I noticed from your profile that you are a self confessed wind up merchant anyway. I used to have a friend who was also a wind up merchant til he got filled in on a night out by having one wind up too many ;)

he's right des, why the feck don't you find out something about modding before opening that bloody mouth of yours will ya

;)

and btw both my clutch has gone and my turbo is making very funny noises :)

i have also had a gearbox go too

currently attempting to save for a new bigger turbo :)

That's not fare, why only the other day I attached one of those Red Devil air fresheners to my rear view mirror. I can have you anytime now.......In a none sexual way you understand. :o

i'd say J's plan except forget the re-map for now and get te exhaust instead then save up for the remap after so things are just how they should be :)

btw mate i'm not saying ask your questions here butif you want advice from a reliable source then places like jabba, JBS etc i've found to be very helpfull about thi sort of thingand always give honest advice :)

so if you want a pro's thoughts then these will be more than happy to tell you the best way to go and pro's/cons of different things

oh i don't know des you seemed to like the taste of my meat and got tucked into my buns the last time i saw you :naughty:

i am going too be in same boat soon for an upgrade but my vrs at the moment has bilstein shocks and eibach springs.

too be honest the ride has not suffered at all, the handling is smoother over the undulations ( less bounce, less twitching from rr) less roll .

. I would save
