What does the V stand for?

Featured Replies

In the brochure, it says Octavia RS, on the badges it says VRS or just V. What does the V mean? :confused:

RS I assume means Renn Sport, Like on Porsches?

Apparantly added by Skoda after Ford got the hump about the 'RS' logo being theirs.

v = version?

As I understand it the V is from the Skoda motorsport logo

Yeah but what came first?

Thought V was for "Victory" after the whole Ford "RS" hoo-har? Might have got the wrong end of the stick though.

Time we made this a FAQ :D

Yes, the V stands for Victory.

You mean I was right for once?! :eek: :shocked: I'm going for a lie down and a beer! bloody hell

Here's the last thread on the subject - note the date!

what idon't get is ford were quite happy to bring out an escort GTI without considering the rest of the market,so why should anyone have to have changed,its not as if skoda brought out an escort rs2000.
