19" Xtreme Alloy Wheels Question

Featured Replies

Hi All

New to the forum, so sorry if the question has already been asked. I'm about to change my MKII VRS for the MKIII. Can anyone tell me if adding the 19" Xtreme wheels has any detrmentlal effect on the road noise or ride quality. I do a lot of miles and while i quite like a firm ride i find the noise levels on my MKII can get overwhelming on the long runs. Thanks in advance

Graeme

Most people cannot detect a difference, even in back to back demo's between 18 and 19s.

The only time I go in my Octy3 is long runs, it's whisper quite on the 19s  :)

Thanks Jose for the quick reply. In fact i'm thinking of the green as you have. Not seen one in the flesh, silly question i know, but how does it look.

Well the funny thing is, when we looked at the brochure we commented 'Who would buy a green one!?'. But when we went for a test drive they had a green one on the forecourt and we both decided it looked awesome!

Here's my thread with a load of pics...

It really pop's in the sun, and is a lovely deep, rich colour. I'd recommend it, just so long as you don't mind people staring at you!

The real issue is getting hold of a set. I would love a set now.

Great pics and it does look stunning in the light. The Skoda web site seems to dull down all the colours. Mine is yellow so i get enough comments about that :D but i do like the look of the rio red metalic and the metal grey metalic. Too many choices. thanks again for the reply, at least i know that the 19's are a safe bet, just the colour to decide.

Green is a great colour - best option on a VRS IMO

I guess you saw the yellow Audi S1 I have as well!? Luckily we don't have a drive so people don't know we are the mad couple with green/yellow cars!

You'll love the car whatever colour, really pleased with it.

I've had the MKI, which i loved, then the MKII facelift, didn't really like the original MKII, and now time for the MKIII. A work collegue has the MKIII VRS in silver and looks and rides so nice, standard wheels. Having read on here about this manufactured noise thing when set in sport mode, i mean does the sound come from the speakers. Very odd i had no idea it was fake. I will have to call him and see if he has cottoned on, he certainly didn't know when we went out in it.

It is basically a vibrator bolted to the base of the windscreen (effectively making the windscreen a speaker).

I don't find the noise sounds too fake, but other owners hate it and have it disabled via VCDS, it's obviously a marmite thing. I like the extra low end burble it adds, still sounds like a TDI though, don't get me wrong!

I had an Audi SQ5 before, which as speakers inside the exhausts, so rather than a 3.0 Bi-Turbo TDI it actually was, it sounded like a big petrol V8 (both inside and out). I personally find this solution to the noise much better than the vibrator or the sound through the speakers solution BMW use - it's far more realistic and it means spectators hear the noise as well (and believe me, they asked questions - "Is that a V8 Q5!!!???").

Well i have saved my lex quote, its a company car, with options rallye green, leather with silver stitching and black plus pack with the 19"ers and the space saver spare wheel, not going for that glue **** ever again. Think that will do. Cheers for the responses, but other comments welcome especially any pics of your 19"ers. Regards

hi I traded in my blue Octavia vrs mk2 for a green vrs 2014. the green looks fantastic and its still quite rare.

looks even better on the 19 extreme's.

I ordered with the red stitching and inserts to match brakes but I regret adding matsumi for apple device as

it is only for previous generation ipod's so I just Bluetooth my music.

that's my first post also cheers foxman 50

Thanks for that Jason, im not sure on the red stitching. Its one of those things you need to see in the flesh i suppose. If i go for the rio red ill go for red, if i go for the metal grey ill go for silver. The green hmm, ive been looking at Jose's pics with the red stitching. Not sure whichb i'd prefer the red or silver. Cant find anything local to view

Doesn't look like they are an option on the configurator at the moment.... hmm!

Foxman it's is difficult unless you get a good look at one close up. When I ordered the green the dealer had never ordered one so again I just had my fingers crossed! If I could suggest the options try stretch for keyless and the sunroof.if I knew how to put pictures up I could show u mine, sorry

Look under black design pack plus.
