Windscreen washers, how do you set them?

Featured Replies

How on earth do you adjust the windscreen washers? mine seemed ok but now they

appear to be hitting the lip of the bonnet. Are there any tips on setting it up, I seem to

remember you need a star or Torx driver and can reach them without opening the bonnet.

The head slides back and forth, it's dead easy.

Don't use pins as you'll damage the jets.

They might be a little stiff but the bit on the right in the picture below that houses the jets slides over the base on the left...

Hey thats neat, I think part of the problem is the Halfords screen wash foaming.

When I had a VW they used to empty and replace the contents of the

washer bottle with VW own brand screenwash but it was a pricey job.

Any recommendations for a super screen wash?

Aldi/Lidl ( if it's in stock ) 5L bottles, I dilute it down 50/50 really good stuff.

or Skoda's own, 1L bottle again I dilute it down. When In call in at the dealers I ask for a complimentary bottle of screen wash. I usually get one

I’ve had my Fabia for nine and a half years with the washers pointed right at the bottom of the screen using over twice the amount of fluid as necessary.

At its first service I asked for them to be adjusted and was told there was no adjustment on them!!

Have just been out after reading that and now have them firing into the middle of the screen, Thanks

PS: They were a little stiff
