60bhp & 75 bhp - hardware differences?

Featured Replies

which ones have the 75bhp? The sport is 60 is it not? I just assumed it was the automatics that had more power to compensate for the loss of power from the gearbox :S

Never really took much interest in the other  varients... Sorry!

The gearbox is identical to the manual, with just an extra unit added to change gear for you.

So, is that the 75bhp model then? or is 75 available on other models?

75PS is available in Elegance trim.

The engines are identical, it´s just a different map. The throttle closes slightly (among other things) in the higher RPM´s on the 60 BHP. The 60 BHP can be remapped to 75 BHP, but in real life the 60 BHP produces close to 70 BHP.

Remaps can be done here in Denmark for approx. £300. I don´t see the point in getting it done, as the difference is from 5000 RPM´s and up only. The 75 BHP has a slightly shorter final drive in the gearbox, so it takes around 200 RPM more to do 100 Km/H compared to the 60 BHP model.

My cousin has got himself a 75 bhp mii sport after a disaster with an i10 and Henwood took me for a quick spin in it and when the 75 engine is pushed northwards of 5000rpm there is a noticeable difference to the 60. Whereas the 60hp has lost nearly all power the 75hp car pulls strongly past 6000rpm. In day to day use you'd never notice but it you want to push on the 75hp car is more fun and i reckon quite a bit quicker.

Considering there's apparently no hardware differences why didn't skoda give the sport the 75 engine??

Which gear you use when you rev over 5000 rpm? And what's the speed then?

I agree being the Sport it would've had the 75 bhp engine to kind of match its name.

And this exhaust system [emoji12]
