Skoda octavia 1.9 TDI 66kw engine squealing noice

Featured Replies

my 2001-2002 skoda octavia 1.9 TDI is making this squealing noice in the engine room by the diesel pump and belt. i was wondering if someone know annything about this. it follows the revs. im guessing that one of the weels either alternator or waterpump or that its a loose belt (got an automatic belt tentioner so thinking thats not it)

here is a link to a youtuve video with the sound. ignore the 1 metal sound in the start (just someone in the background)

Youtube link

ive also got an issue with the engine going in to safemode/limpmode when i acellerate in 4th gear from low revs with max throttle.

we just concluded with the lambasonde being covered in **** and not reading well when the engine is not burning all the fuel at max throttle.

if annyone got anny information on this it woud be greatly apriciated.

Regards

Lars

This could be the auxiliary belt tension er. I had a similar issue. It was more pronounced when engine cold. It was replaced after a period of time mainly due to annoyance of the noise.

I had a similar noise until timing belt kit, water pump and drive belt all changed 10 days ago now gone.
