Looking For Some Help......

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Had a bit search & can't find anything similar to my problems.

I've got a '01 1.9 tdi (atd pd engine) fabia which over the last few years has struggled with battery drain. Its had a new battery recently, which has been tested & all is ok with that.

I took the car to an auto electrician last week who traced the drain to the "body control module", he said there were a few fuses that were rusty & it looked like there'd been water ingress somewhere in the car which could be possible.

When I asked for a quote on repairing this he said he didn't want to take the work on as the dash needs to come out & the part alone from Skoda is over £500!!!

I've never heard of a body control module before? Is this basically the CCM that I've read about over on different VW forums (I also own a mkiv golf)

Is it easy to get too & replace, the guy did tell me it would need recoding to the car.

Cheers in advance,

Simon

Hi ive never heard of that before

Only thing i can think of from past expereince with another car

Was my alternator shot its load and snapped the bracket holding it to engine thus causing the pulley to twist and belt to loose tension so the more i drove it the less the battery was charged eventually it died.

Maybe checked belt tension pulleys etc 1st

If you are handy with tools you can buy a good used one for peanuts and do it yourself.

As above, easy to sort. May have a spare one about
