Squeeky when idling. Doesn't sound like a squeeky belt though. Worried!

Featured Replies

1.8t is squeeky when idling. Could it be pulley bearings? Don't think it sounds like alternator belt slipping. Please help.

Sounds like the freewheeling pulley on the alternator. My TDi when R the same then the pulley snapped off.

I don't think the petrol engines have a freewheel pulley like the diesels do, but I might be wrong.

I don't have one on my VRS.

petrol engines do not have freewheel pulley.

You have to dig a bit on this one, could be the steering pump,AC pulley or maybe just the tensioner
