Octy VRS doesn't feel as gutsy anymore

Featured Replies

The problem is a little non-specific....but I've been finding my VRS a little less powerful over the last couple of months. I'm not sure if it's because I've become used to its power after upgrading from a Fabia TDI. It just doesn't throw me back in the seat when setting off from stationary and I'm giving it full welly. It also seems a bit sluggish when trying to overtake on motorways.

I have kept up with all regular oil+filter changes, there are no ECU fault codes thrown (apart from a Turbo underboost code a few months ago that never came back). Only issue is DPF needs auto regen twice a month; I havent had a chance to change the exhaust sensor yet.

What else should I investigate? Or, are there any VRS afficianadoes near Cambridge who's willing to take it for a spin and see how it compares to theirs?

Stick a few tanks of v power in. It will give everythin inside a good old clean

thanks mike jay....ive filled it with one tank of esso supreme before i read your post. ill do v power next.

Get it scanned with VCDS is my thought.

Try a throttle reset!

Yeah read about one of them in another thread. A few people say they really work. Food down on gas, ignition on for 10 sec then off foot off gas then start engine. Think thats right. Someone will prob correct me if im wrong

Put some cataclean through it really sorts them out, about 12 quid from euro parts at the minute.

Thanks guys....I'll try the throttle test...never came across it before. Will also try Cataclean.

There were no fault codes before....but I got an engine fault light today (flashing coil) which went away upon restart.
