Our Fabia has decided it wants to lock/unlock itself when the front passenger door is opened/closed and when driving along, anyone have any experience of fixing this issue. I'm guessing a micro switch?

Also, the centre vents on the dash aren't having air directed to them.

Please post any experience or useful details if you have any, hoping to break out the IKEA tool box in the next couple of weeks if I get the chance.

Is air going to other vents, windscreen, feet etc ? If the dial is rotated round too many times then it tends to tangle the wire and jam.

Door locks could be water in a sensor or as you said a micro switch.

 Currently having the same lock/unlock symptoms on a 58 plate Greenline while driving. I had the anti-hijack (auto lock above 15 kph) set, which I have just taken off to see if this was the problem (the car locked itself yesterday while running and having the ice scraped off the windows - with the house keys also in her handbag that was in the car so I had to drive home to let her into the house to get her spare car key). One other symptom on ours is that the interior light does not always come on when we open the front passenger door.

I think air goes to all other vents, but will double check. It's climate control version so no dial turning. We have anti hijack and double press unlock for all doors, think I'm gonna end up stripping door down.

I had a number of problems with mine unfortunately, with it locking itself, or activating the locks when opening and closing the drivers door.

On mine it was the wiring loom between the drivers door and the car body that had gone. I soldered mine a couple of times, however unfortunately it broke a number of times causing different issues. I resoldered it each time, though got sick of doing so, in the end I had the loom replaced.

It sounds like a weak point on Fabias :(

 Looks like this may possibly be the required repair. Will review the wiring first.

Don't mess doing a repair as I found out on a golf.

Door harness wires will fracture and replacing one wire, sure as eggs are eggs others will break.

Also new harness will be Upgraded.

How much is harness/loom?

almost certainly the loom. it doesn't cost a lot and is a doddle to replace, definitely beats trying to do a wiring repair between the door and body
