I have had the car coming up to 3 years and have done 38,000 trouble free miles. I was wondering when I should get my cam belt changed and while I'm at I want to get the water pump changed? Can anyone advise me please?

The cambelt change interval for the Tdi engine is 60,000 miles -- although we normally suggest a limit of five years as well.

As for the waterpump -- well it could be done at the same time as the belt,would be cost effective,although there tend to be not many problems with them -- as long as the correct coolant is used to the correct strength.

There is certainly no harm in doing the above earlier -- might give that extra peace of mind.
