Hi guys im going to be putting in some subs and amps in my car and i need to run them on 0.5 ohm so i need to upgrade to a bigger alternator

Will a passat 2.0 diesel 180amp alt bolt straight onto my fab ? Heres a link with the one im looking at getting, i just want to make sure it will fit before i get it cheers

The default one for vRS is able to generate 120amps if I'm not wrong. If it fits, a bigger one will put more stress on the belt also, which might snap faster in this case. It might affect the mpg as well.

Check the amps drained from the battery with a multimeter with all the systems going, including highbeam, ac on and the air blower at full speed. If this would be really required, I'd put a second battery in the spare wheel compartment, link it and have a voltmeter in the dashboard. It might be easier and safer.
