I wonder, does anyone happen to have a part number for the silver fascia used with the stream mp3 head unit in 2008 Octavias (vRSs I think) with climate control?

The base part number for these trims is 1Z0 858 069 but then there are a number of variants via a suffix for different heater controls and pre/post FL and different head units.  There are different climatronic units pre and post FL and the Stream is a different shape to the Columbus for example although it is actually the same as the Bolero.  See http://www.vwwatercooled.com.au/forums/f149/columbus-trim-surround-part-no-68748.html to get an idea - I think you are looking at the part numbered 10 in the image?

 

I think it is J for the pre FL Climatronic with Stream/Bolero, followed by 2AU for the Aluminium colour but I can't be sure.
