Is my vRS lowered?

Featured Replies

So, it has been quite some time since my last post at the forum. I used to drive a Octavia II FL, and now recently switched to a Fabia vRS estate.

One thing has been puzzling me. After looking at many pictures of stock height vRS estates and big wheel arch gaps, mine seems a bit lower. I don't know how the stock springs look and the dealer didn't know whether it had been lowered. So maybe someone here could help.

Have a look at the attached picture. Car is with winter tyres (195/50/R16) difference in arch gap gain in comparison to summer (205/40/R17) should be around 3mm. So that shouldn't make a lot of difference?

Would someone happen to have a vRS with similar tyres? or could post a picture with similarish wheels/tyres from same angle?

And why do I ask, because I was planning on lowering the car and if I put some -20mm Eibachs on, do I end up like now?

Photo in daylight please?

Looks like its on lowering springs to me.

Eibachs or similar

Have you had a look? I would assume Eibachs are either a different colour or have the branding on them?

I will post a daylight picture tomorrow, if I can manage. It's pretty much dark all day round this time of year  :notme:

Looking at the springs, they look OEM. I can't see any markings other than green and red dots and the springs are black.

the eibachs actually say "eibach" on the springs, so worth a look ;)

Looks it to me.

In the link posted above the blue estate looks very similar, but then again, it looks lower than usual :)

I will visit the dealer anyhow tomorrow, so I will ask the service dept. how to identify the stock springs.

Compare to this for example:

I'm in Finland so it's probably not the same car :) it's a 2011 with 60K km

No it is not the same car.

I thought we were comparing how the looked.

So your suspension has settled.

You will see what the numbers are on your cars springs.

Sharkrider maybe has the original springs off his car.

Remember the springs on rear of the estate (combi) are different from the hatch if you are changing yours.

OK, thanks. I will ask a quote for the springs tomorrow as well and yes, in the above linked it does look pretty similar. If I understand correctly it's on -35mm H&R ?

sold my original springs mate. went to a member on here with a "non vRS" estate, and he put the vRS springs on his car :)
