Heated Seats

Featured Replies

I am not sure if this is normal but in my 2012 Elegance the drivers heated seat "remembers" the setting and comes on again after short stops - fuel or papers etc.  The passengers heated seat, however, goes off with the ignition and has to be switched on again when the engine is restarted after the briefest stop.

The drivers heated seat does stay "off" if I switch off the engine for 10+ minutes. Anyone else noticed this - very useful but annoys my wife in the passenger seat!

My 2013 will do the same as yours, just tell her indoors to press the button she has nothing to do while your driving  :giggle:

Both my seats reset after any stop. I believe there may be a way to code the memory by VCDS...?

Both mine reset after a stop, but if I turn the ignition off but leave the key in, they return to the previous setting when restarting the engine.

Life is too short to provoke 'her indoors"! Anyway nice to know heated seats favour the driver. In this weather it is sooo nice to feel the heat rising up your back.

My 2011 elegance does this too, oddly I only noticed this on Monday there.

Mine was delivered with the heated seats to remember the setting for an hour after the key is removed and then resets to the off setting.

I asked Gizmo68 to change the settings via VCDS so that it always remembers the last setting regardless of time for both the drivers' & passengers' seats. It works great but it does mean that the driver has to check that the passenger remembered to turn the heaters off when out driving on your own.

If memory serves you could vary the length of time in hours that the last setting is remembered upto 8 in total (9 being never forget).
