Whiteline RARB fouling suspension

Featured Replies

Hi, had a Whiteline RARB fitted for a few weeks and had a clunking coming from the rear passenger side when the car fully loaded on bumpy roads. Looks like it's the RARB hitting the suspension arm as can be seen from the attached photo showing a rusty spot where contact is being made. Looks like the bend in the RARB isn't as aggressive as stock so there's less clearance. Anyone seen anything like this, seems there are plenty of happy whiteline customers on here...

Might be a stupid answer but have you mounted it wrong ? I have no problem with mine and it's on the hard setting !

Mine doesn't hit like that (just bloody squeaks as I need to grease it!) it shouldn't benhitting anywhere, have u got the mounting too high in the middle?

I've had a Whiteline RARB fitted for 4 ish years.  Its has not squeaked or rattled or hit anything.

I drive over the Alps often, and any other hilly, twisty bits of road I can find.  I usually have a max load +.

Wine and camping stuff for a summer, so reasonably down at the back.

Still no problems, still feels so much better.

Is it fitted correctly, as already alluded to?

Is it the correct model for you car?

Hope you get it sorted soon and start to reap the benefits.

Don't see how it could be fitted incorrectly TBH (other than upside down which is unpossible) and yes, it's the right version for the vRS.

I did read a thread on here about someone needing longer droplinks for she same issue but can't find the damn thing now.

I also have a Bilstein B12 kit fitted which lowers the car a little but shouldn't make that much difference.

Hmmm, looking at those photos there's a lot of adjustment on those slotted mounts. Have asked the garage to drop it as far low as it will go and see what difference it makes.

Have you checked the drop links? They can knock when worn out.

It's worth having a look at the clamps on the arb to make sure they aren't rubbing on the sub frame mounts.
